Hero

The real definition of a hero is a man of distinguished courage or ability, admired for his brave deeds and noble qualities. But my definition of a hero is someone who goes out of their way to do something good for the environment, the people, their community, etc. Characteristics of a hero is someone who has respect for any person, no matter color, religion, or look, they have to have leadership, as well as bravery. Such as your brother, mother, grandfather, or maybe even the U.S. military. I feel that the definition of a hero will never change over time because it's something that once you have, it's always in you. Maybe not going to the animal shelter every week to help adopt the animals, but could be something as little as picking that can on Coke next to your foot.

Hero

What is your definition of a hero? What qualities or characteristics does a hero have? Does the definition of a hero change over time?

My deffinition of a hero is someone who has helped someone else, saved someone else, or someone that alot of people look up to. The qualities that i see a hero having are nice, helpful, colorful, fast, genorouse, etc. The deffinition of a hero does not change over time because if a hero saves someones life, that doesnt change, they will always be a hero. Tats what i think a hero is made of.

Hero

My definition of a hero is someone who is responsible, trustworthy, reliable, and one who has confidence in himself. A hero should be a great role model for everyone to look up to and learn from. A hero, to me, is generally nice and respectful towards other, also they usually tend to be very hardworkers and very commited to the responsibilities they are given. The definition of hero does not seem to change overtime in my own opinion because all of the characteristics, qualities, and actions they have taken part in would never seem to change and explain an overall good person and in otherwords "hero".

Hero

A hero is someone that preforms good deeds to improve the community and world. There are my different hero's. Hero's are not only comic book characters, they are among us every day. People such as solderers, firefighters, peramedics, police officers, teachers, doctors, and many other people. They give to there comunity* without a selfish though. Theis are real hero's.

Friday, November 9, 2007

My defination of a hero would be someone that is kind and cares about others more then themselves, a person that offers help when they dont have to. Someone who is nice and caring and helps others when they need help. I dont think that a hero's qualities changes over time. I think that a hero will always be nice and caring of others.

hero

My definition of a hero is someone who does something good for someone else. They can be a person that just helps someone out in some way. They would have to care about everyone no matter who they are. A hero is also someone that I look up to. They have to be caring, loyal, and trustworthy. I don't really have a hero. Most people say that their hero is their mom and dad, but I don't really have one. My definition of a hero doesn't change over time. I will always think of a hero that helps someone in a good way.

My definitoin of a hero.

My definition of a hero is someone who I can look to if I need guidance. They are someone who will know the answer no matter what questions I ask. They are selfless, but still care about themselves. They are nice, but also have a mean side. They can be totally out there and crazy weird, but still maintain a level head. They are organized but still have some spontaneity. My vision of a hero may not exist in real life, and that might be why I don't have one, but if someone comes along with all these qualities I will most definitely look up to them.

Heroes

My definition of a hero is someone who you can look up to. Someone that is a role model to you. The characteristics a hero would have is, a nice person, kind, always there for you, responsible, and honest. This definition shouldn't change over time, because that person should always set a good example towards you and everyone around you. They shouldn't let you down ever, and should always be there for you no matter what the situation is. Your hero may sometimes make mistakes, but you shouldn't stop looking up to them. My mom is my hero because she always supports me in whatever I do, and makes me smile whenever I need someone to laugh at.

Heroes

My definition of a hero is not someone who saves the world, can fly, or has superhuman strength. My kind of a hero is some one who helps others, is a good samaritan(even when noboby is looking), and is a good role model. The definition of a hero changes at different times. A hero is always vigilant and helpful.

A Hero

My definition of a hero is someone who has a calling to do good, whether it's to help people or to help the world. Some characteristics a hero would have is to be gallant, heroic, brave, and selfless. This definition might change over time; it matters if the hero is static or dynamic, although it is unlikely they will change their heroic ways.

Hero

In my opinion, a hero is someone who stands up for what's right and laughs in the face of evil or trouble. Some traits of a good hero include regard for human life, kindness, generosity, respect, and honesty. All of these traits fall under the catagory of a righteous person. Heroes are also very concerned with the well-being of their community and environment. In cessation, these are all ideas that describe heroes.

Hero

To me, a hero is someone who does things to help other people. Heroes aren't just the people you see in comic books. They are normal, everyday people. For example, there could be someone trying to mug an old lady in a crowded city. Someone who calls the police and stops the crook could be a hero. Policemen, firefighters, and doctors are also heroes because they save lives every day.

I don't think the idea of a hero changes over time. Someone could have been a police officer twenty years ago and still could have done the same heroic thing as a policeman today. Also, throughout my whole life, my mom has been my hero.

Hero

A hero is someone who has a big impact on someones life. A hero is a good role model to someone younger. Some qualities a hero has are courage, leadership, bravery, and kindness. Many heroes have these qualities, and that is what makes them a good hero. As time goes on, I think that the definition of a hero will not change. I think the hero himself could change. Maybe he or she has lost their good ways. Maybe they get to caught up in all the money or fame of being a hero. I don't think that the definition of a hero will ever change ,but I think that the hero could. Everybody changes over time. It are the ones who find their way back on the right path that become or stay heroes to others.

Hero

A hero is someone who changes someone's life in a good way. A hero has characteristics like bravery, kindness, many heroes are virtuouse, and some hero's can have bad quality's at some point. For instance in spider man when he starts turning bad, he is still a hhero but he lets his beliefs fall. A hero can definatly change. One way of change could be going from good to bad, or just changing your goal, but one thing is for sure, heroes are definately the good guys.

Hero

In my opinion a hero doesn’t have to be some super strong person who fly's around in a cape and tights and can catch a bullet in their hands or anything like that. A hero is just someone who has a positive input into your life. A hero can just be someone who does something as small as helping you up when you fall down or just someone who helps an old lady cross the street with a bag of groceries. A hero could also be someone in your family who helps you with problems in your life or cheers you up when your upset. A hero doesn't ever stop being a hero. Once you're a hero you're always a hero and nothing can change that. So basically a hero can be someone who saves your life or just someone who saves your pet, but a hero is a hero no matter what size or shape.

Hero to me

When I hear the word "hero" I think of a person that saves lives and greatly helps people. Anyone can be a hero, and you don't have to be some superstar to be one. Parents are heroes and teachers too. I think that heroes do many kind things. I also think that they are generous to others. They never make fun of people and put them down. I don't think that the definition of heroes changes over time because people who do these things will always positively impact the world, but the heroes themselves overtime will change.

Hero

My definition of a hero is a person that helps people and fights for what is right. Some characteristics of a hero are a person who fights for what is right, doesn't give up even in the darkest situations, and always keeps faith. They also try to movtivate people, and help them keep their heads up above water. It doesn't have to be the biggest things like saving the President or stopping terrorists. It can be the smaller things like giving your seat on a bus to an old lady so she doesn't have to walk all the way to the back of the bus to sit down. It can also be like helping clean up the enviorment, helping at charity events and so on. I don't think the definition of a hero changes over time unless the person who is the hero decides to change. So all and all heros are your everyday people.

hero blog

well, When I think about the word hero many words pop into my mind hardworking, kind, intelligent, brave. To be a hero could be to the world could be to a child or could be to yourself. There are many types of hero's there are personal hero's such as your mom or dad, or your favorite superhero such as superman, batman,or chuck norris or it could be your interest hero like slash, jimi hendrix,or bono. Although all of these people are different they all share similar characteristics which make them heroic. For example a mother hero to a child e they make them better when they are down, the make them dinner and they make sure there life is in place. A superhero is strong and can save the day and make someone feel better. And a musician or an actor have the characteristics that inspire you to do whatever they do, they influence them to be a musician or an actor. My main hero is Anthony Kiedis the singer for the red hot chili peppers he is talented and smart, his work has inspired me to get into music and play guitar which is currently my main hobby. That is my opinion on heroes.

Hero

To me, a Hero is a person who helps people. They don't put you down, but instead, they bring you up. They give you hope and they are good role models. Heroes aren't necessarily people like Superman and Batman, or even celebrities like Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise. They can be people you didn't know or someone you know that is not really important to the world. For example, your mother or father. Your mother or father might not literally be the most important person in the world for other people, but they might be for you. Heroes should be caring, kind, and hardworking. They don't always have to be brave or inteligent, but it helps to be those things. I believe that the definition of Hero does not change, no matter what. Once a Hero, always a Hero.

MDG/COA Question

I think people are naturaly good. Something inside them tells them to do good instead of bad. For example, in The Most Dangerous Game, Rainsford feels sympathy for the animals he hunts, and General Zaroff's behavior twards other humans he finds weak, grotesque. When General Zaroff said, "I hunt the scum of the earth-sailors from tramp ships-lascars, blacks, Chinese, whites mongrels-a thoroughbred horse or hound is worth more than a score of them," Rainsford replies, "But they are men," which tells the reader that he does not aprove of killing people, even if their race or status is lower than his.

Personaly, I try the best I can to be good. If I do something not so great, I tend to feel pretty bad about it for a while. I don't think people want to be bad, sometimes they just don't see an alternitave route to the bad things they do. Some stiuations in life may leave you with tough desisions, and what you want and what is good may not be the same thing.

MDG/COA Question

P1: In "The Most Dangerous Game", I think most people only care about themselves. In "The Most Dangerous Game", General Zaroff, doesn't care about anyone but himself. For example, a quote from the story that General Zaroff said was, "the weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure. I am strong." Gerneral Zaroff kills humans and that's why he only cares about himself.

P2: I think people naturally want to be good in real life. Well, most people at least. I think a lot of people are good or bad, depending on how they were raised. My parents raised me to be a good person. But some people aren't always good. So,I think the outcome on if a person is bad or good is 50/50.

We're Bad :(

I think that most people want to be good at heart. Although I don't think everyone is good at heart. In the Most Dangerous Game, I think, that Rainsford was a good person. Yes, he hunted animals, but not to hurt them necessarily. Rainsford didn't know how it felt to be the animal being hunted, so he didn't see any wrong in what he was doing. However I think that Captain Zaroff knew exactly what he was doing wrong, and he didn't stop until it resulted in his death.

In real life I still think that we try to be good people, but we get blindsided by what we want. When we see something we want, we don't care what it takes to get it. Even if that means hurting someone, or belittling someone else to look better than them. Some of my friends have even done pretty shady things when I know at heart, they are good people. I think that there's a difference with bad people doing bad things, and good people doing bad things.

MDG/COA Question

Paragraph #1
I think that nost people are naturaly good, but there arre a few exeptions. General Zarrof was an antagonist who only cared about himself. He thought that most sailers were worthless, and week. He had no good in him, and killed anyone who came onto his island.

Paragraph #2
Now Rainsford on the other hand had a lot of natural good in him. He hunted animals at first, but towards the end he realized that they had feelings too. He was against the killing of people, and was a very moral person.

MDG/COA

I think most people want to be naturally good and not only just care about doing good things for themselves, but people can have different meanings of good. Such as, in the story "The Most Dangerous Game" General Zaroff and Rainsford consider good in different ways. In the story General Zaroff thinks being good has in when he catches people he locks them in the dungeon before killing them so then they still have more time to live. In "The Most Dangerous Game" Rainsford considers being good by caring about people and not hunting other people as a game like General Zaroff likes to do.

In my life I try to be the best person I can be, however sometimes I can't always. Usually I try to be naturally good and I try not to be selfish by just thinking about myself. Sometimes people make mistakes though, because not everyone is perfect and handles everything the right way. I know everyone has had situations like this in life, because it can be hard to avoid.

Two Paragraphs

Paragraph 1 : The world consists of good people and bad people. Sometimes good people need to do bad things. For example, in the most dangerous game, Rainsford use to love to hunt animals. But when he found out that General Zarrof hunted humans, he realized that animals have feelings too. Also, when Rainsford kills General Zarrof, it was beneficial because General Zarrof killed a lot of people.

Paragraph 2 : In the modern world, many good people have to do bad things. For example, policeman have to kill criminals who pose a threat to the society in order for the safety of others. Many people are aware that policeman kill for the greater good, but it is still considered killing a human. Self-defense is another good example of why innocent people should do bad things. These are numerous examples of why good people should do bad things once in a while.

MDG/COA Question

Well I think that people want to perceived as good but at times they are pressured or make bad decisions, however personally I believe that at heart almost everybody as good but I believe that the people that are perceived as bad really are good people but they just make bad choices. for example in this book we perceive Zaroff as a bad person, because he believe that this world was for him to kill everything. Now that may seem like a definite oh my god he is horrible but we don't know how he was brought by his parents, we don't know if he had a traumatic experience as a child that made him angry and want to kill everything. Thus I really do not believe we should snap to conclusions and label him as a bad person. So I really think that he is not a bad person at heart he just seems like one.

I think of myself as a good person I always try to do the right thing and when I am doing something wrong I feel remorse, However in my day I have done some bad things I am not proud of that I deeply regret and some people might veiw me as a bad person but I am not. All of my friends and almost everyone I know have made mistakes that they regret, but if we labled all of those people as bad almost everyone in this world would be bad. However the word forgiveness is a great word and allows us to maintain our reputation. Since I have taken an interest in forensic science and investagation shows on court tv I have understood that even some killers are really not bad people but were in a tough state of mind or were confused and not conscious so to say. That is what I think

MDG/COA Question

I think that everyone wants to be good. The problem is what they think "good" is. In "The Most Dangerous Game" General Zaroff thinks that hunting humans is fine. On the other hand, Rainsford thinks hunting animals is o.k., but hunting humans is not right. In way they both are selfish because killing isn't right and they also killed animals but General Zaroff went overboard and started hunting humans.

In life you will always have people that are selfish and also good people. When I was younger and people used to have something that I wanted I would throw a fit until I got it (I'd say that's pretty selfish). I'm sure most everyone has done something selfish before. I think every one's intentions are to be good but they have little issues.

MDG/COA Question

I think that some people want to be naturally good, but everyone doesn't have the same meaning for "good". For example, in "The Most Dangerous Game", General Zaroff thought that hunting people was good, and Rainsford believed that hunting animals, not people was good. But, really, General Zaroff was thinking about himself when he hunted people because it was a challenge. He was only trying to please himself. Some people are selfish like General Zaroff and only think and care about themselves.

I think that I am a good person. I would never do anything to hurt anyone. Personally, I think that everyone can be good if they wanted to, but they just choose to be bad and selfish. Like at my house, when my sister fights with me, she could of chose not to, but she did. I think everyone can be selfish at times too. I know that I've acted selfish. One time when my mom and I went to the mall, I went into all of the stores that I wanted to go into and then I didn't let her go into any of her stores. But, overall, everyone can be good if they wanted to.

Naturally good

I think that people naturally want to be good, but they do things that are bad. In "The Most Dangerous Game" Rainsford hunted for fun. On the other hand General Zaroff hunted because he was bored of animals, he wanted a challenge. As the story progresses Rainsford realizes that the way he felt when he was hunted was the way animals felt.

At times I am a good person then at other times I am a bad person. Take at my house for instance. I do my chores when I want to so I don't get introuble. Then other days I don't feel like doint anything and my parents have to repeat themselves over and over until they yell at me. Outside my home I am a good person unless people are not nice to me. Then I'm going to be a bad person to the people who are not treating me with respect.

Expository Paragraphs

I believe that most people want to be naturally good, but they're not. In The Most Dangerous Game Rainsford hunts animals for fun. He did not understand that the creatures he was hunting had feelings just like him. Zaroff hunts humans because he is bored of hunting animals. He says that humans are a "better gain" for his hunting skills. Eventually Zaroff hunts Rainsford. Rainsford begins to feel that being hunted is not fun. The same with animals, it's not fun for them either. Even though Rainsford learned his lesson, that does not make him a good person, it just means that he won't hunt anymore. He could still do something selfish or evil.

In my experiences, I learned that no matter how much you want to be or how many times you say you are, you really aren't naturally good. One point or another in your life, you will do something selfish. When I was younger, me and my friend went egging houses. The first couple of housed we egged without getting caught. But that last house we egged, we were caught by the cops. Right there and then I knew I did something bad and that I would get punished for what I had done. But my friend did not see it that way. Right away he told the cops that it was my idea to egg houses and that I made him do it. Of course, that was not true. He tried to get out of being in trouble by blaming me for it all, and acting like a victim. That was really selfish. In the end, the cops knew he had devised the idea and committed the crime willingly. How? I don't know, all I know is that we both got in trouble for egging houses.

Naturally Good or Bad Paragraphs.

I think it utamatly depends on the situation, because you can be a bad person but then be good on certain situtaions. Like in MOST DANGEROUS GAME Rainsford liked to hunt and kill animals but at the end he learned that animals have feelings. And for General Zaroff he didn't care who he killed, he just cared about himself. And for Cask of Armatilldo, I didn't really understand that but someone killed another so the person that killed the other one must have been bad and selfish.

If your bad your bad but some people make a change in thier lifes in want to good, and want to stay good, becauses that's how they always been or that's how they've been taught. But everyone has a little of both.

Naturally Good

I believe most people naturally want to be good. In The Most Dangerous Game Rainsford was the protagonist. He was a great hunter. Throughout his life he has killed many animals. He never realized that all the animals he hunted had feelings until he was hunted himself. He wasn't purposely doing wrong. General Zaroff was the antagonist, but in his own little grotesque ways he didn't believe he was doing wrong either. He actually believed he was doing them a favor. In this story I believe the characters wanted to be naturally good.

In my own life I believe most people want to be naturally good. I don't always do good, but I try. Nobody is perfect. Everyone isn't always good when nobody is watching . When my parents say to eat more vegtables they don't mean to be mean. By saying this they are actually trying to help me and make me healthier, but I may percieve it differently. I believe all people have a little good in them

MDG/COA Question

From the stories we have read it appears that most people like Zaroff from The Most Dangerous Game care about themselves. Zaroff cares about himself because he makes sailors crash their ships and captures the survivors. He then hunts the sailors he captures for pleasure. Zaroff also says that "Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if need be, taken by the strong. The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure". Also in The Cask of Amontillado there was a murder, which means someone just cared about themselves.

From my own experiences I believe that people truly care about others. Firemen care about others because they go out and save peoples lives. They also stop fires so people do not get their homes burnt down. On 9-11 firemen saved many peoples lives by going into the World Trade Centers and rescuing buisness people from the buildings. On 9-11 they evacuated people from neighboring buildings so they did not get hurt. They did this even though they were in danger and many firemen losst their lives.

MDG/COA

I think that there are some people in this world that naturally want to be good, and then there is others who only think of themselves. In the story "The Most Dangerous Game" Rainsford thinks he is a good person, but what he doesn't realizes is that the animals he hunts have feelings too. In the story, to tables are turned, and he is hunted. He then realizes that the animals he hunts have feelings and he wants to change, and be a good person.

I am a good person. From my own experience, People can be good and bad. I would not kill somebody for pleasure, but I'm sure that there are some people out there that would. I have made good decisions and also some selfish ones. I think that there can be good people who just sometimes make selfish decisions.

MDG/COA question response.

PART ONE. Everyone cares about themselves. Only because it's the natural independence everyone has. Like when Zaroff gives his feelings towards life, basically saying that the strong are really the only ones with feelings and are supposed to hunt the week. Then, when it gets to the hunt, Rainsford abandons all consideration for the guy and sets out to kill him. Which makes sense [it's self defense]. As for the Poe story, for real, I could not keep track of what was going on to make heads or tales of who was good and who was bad. But I'm pretty sure someone killed someone. That means there was a murderer. So. Like. Murder is pretty selfish.

PART TWO. After people start to realize that others have feelings too, they start to care about people more. I care about other peoples feelings mainly because I know how it feels to be slammed into the dirt. And I wouldn't want anyone to feel that. Unless of course they have done something to get me to the point that I feel the need to...return the favor. Okay, if you are at a concert, your natural impulse is to shove and pull your way to the front, right? Exactly. Yeah, I guess you could say that's greedy and careless for others. That's the best example of me not caring that I could think of. Otherwise, I'm pretty considerate.

Good or Selfish?

I think that most people only care about themselves. In the book The Most Dangerous Catch General Zaroff said, "Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if need be, taken by the strong. The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure." He has no feeling for the people that are weak or even just less stronger than him. And in the book, Cask of Amontillado, the murder is the kind of guy who only cares about themselves because he enjoyed killing someone else. Those are the type on antagonists that will never change being selfish and will always stay wicked.
I personally can say that yes, I have had my selfish times. For example, one time my friend was going through a hard time of her parents divorcing, but all I wanted to talk about was a break up figured out that I was putting a break-up before my best friends feelings and emotions so I turned it around and helped her through it. So everyone in the world does it, but it all depends on how much you do it, and also if you learn from it. As every day goes by I mature more and become less selfish. I don't take what I have for granted anymore, I give more than I take, and I put other people before myself.

Most Dangerous Game/ Cask of Amontillado Question

I believe that people naturally care only about themselves, but that outside influences can change their minds for the better and make them want to do good for other people. An example of this from The Most Dangerous Game is, while at the begginging of the story, Rainsford cares only about the self-pleasure he gets from "the hunt", by the end of the story, after his fiasco with General Zaroff, he then understands how perhaps the animals feel while they are hunted. Although I can see no change in the mind of Montresor in The Cask of Amontillado, this does support my theory that people begin with only the desire to please themselves.

As the idea of good or evil applies to my life, I personally believe that a good parental upbringing, religous morals, accountability between friends, etc. all influence whether or not we put others before ourselves. I feel that I am blessed to have all three of these aforementioned traits that HELP to build up selflessness, however, even with many events throughout your life that can help to persuade you to "be good", in the end, you alone may choose your own fate as it regards to this topic.

Mixed Emotions

I think that question can't be answered with an A or B answer. People have different scruples, as Rainsford has a calling to do good while General Zaroff wants to do nothing but grotesque acts. It depends on the person, like Fortunado only cares about himself, even though Montressor practically committed murder, he was still a good-natured person. Again, it matters if the person is good or bad inside if they want to do righteous or evil acts.

From my life, most examples point to the superficial answer. Although most people will help out in a time of need, most people care only about themselves deep inside. But most of that is just instinct, I think. Again, it depends on the person, but most people I observe on t.v., radeo, or any other form of media fit into catagory B.

MDG/COA Question

1. Well I think that most people want to be good or think that their good, but just think of themselves. There are people in this world that are good, their some that go from being selfish to being a good person and then you have those who don't change and think of nothing but themselves and their not even hepling themselves or anybody for that mater. Rainsford is one of those people that are lucky and change the way they are. He loved to hunt and kill the weaker, like animals but when it was his turn to be hunted he didn't like it. At that point he realized that it was wrong to do what he was doing beause animals have feeling just like him so he did learn from General Zaroff game. His job is to stop General Zaroff from killing people for pleasure. Now General Zaroff is one of those who thinks he's doing good but just thinking of himself. He thinks that those who are strong people in the world can do what they will with the weak people in the world. Zaroff thinks he's doing good just beacuse he's feeding his victms before he kills them but he's not. In the story Cask of Amontillado, the muder is the kind of person who only cares about themselve because he took great pleasure in killing another person. By the way it was hard to understand the story.

2. I would say that I'm a good person, I help others when they need it. I would never kill someone for pleasure only in self defence. I've made stupid choises in my life and I do know that they were wrong. I have also learned from them. Also I have something some don't have, I have a older sister who hase made misakes one after another so that tought me whats the right thing to do and whats the wrong. So I'm not saying that I'm perfect but I'm not the worst person ever.

Good or bad

I think most peopke want to do good but something happens to them or theey get driven to a point. General Zaroff was a high powered officer in the largest nation on Earth, who almst lost everything and became bored with his hobby. And the Messor dude was tired of being insulted and ridiculed by a midget wearing tights and an ugly hat.It alsohas to do with the way someone is raised, my parents taught me right from wrong and good from, not all people have the same kind of love and care we were brought up with. Some people are left to fend for themeselves and learn to do any means necessary to get what they want.

In my personal case, I hapened to be in one of those situations where you have top fend for your self and and it was really hard to think of other people. So I guess people don't really want to be mean but sometimes we are put through things that we dont really how to manage.
Most people are taught to do good deeds. Some people just only care about themselves. In the Most Dangerous Game, the general thought he could do whatever he wanted because he felt that other ethnic groups were inferior to him. Ransford, on the other hand, learned about other people emotions as well. In the cask of Amontillado, which was hard to understand, Amontillado was searching for his finest wine, but not thinking of the niter or his accomplice.

I have also mixed emotions. I have accomplished many good deeds as well as had some selfish ones. But over the years I have learned to be less selfish. Even now I do have selfish moments but they accrue less frequently.

MDG/COA Question

I think that some naturally want to be good and some people only care about themselves. General Zaroff is the kind of person that only cares about himself, and I think this because he believes that the strong people in the world can do with what thy will with the weak people in the world. I also think that Rainsford is the kind of person who is naturally good, because he does everything in his power to stop General Zaroff from senselessly killing people for pleasure. Also the murderer from the Cask of Amontillado is the kind of person who only cares about himself because he took great pleasure in killing the other person.

Some people are naturally good and those people are the kind of people that I see every month at a comunity service program that I do for my church. There are also people who only care about themselves, and those are the people that won't donate money or do a couple hours of community service for a charity, and I also see those kinds of almost every day at school or at other activities or places I am.

MDG/COA Question

I think people only care about themselves. The reason why I think this is because of the way the characters act in the story "Most Dangerous Game." For example, Rainsford does not care about hurting the jaguar while hunting it in the beginning of the story, he only cares about being a great hunter. Also, General Zaroff said "Life is for the strong, to be lived by the strong, and, if need be, taken by the strong. The weak of the world were put here to give the strong pleasure."
This shows he does not care for other people that are weak, but he only cares about himself.

I also believe people care only about themselves because of the way people act in real life. There are some girls in high school that do not care about other girls' feelings, but they only care about their own. Therefore, they start to say mean things about other girls to make themselves feel better. This shows they do not want to be nice.

Part I: What part of the writing process do you find the most challenging? (Pre-writing (brainstorming), drafting (putting words to paper), revising for quality, editing for errors, or publishing your work.) Explain which part is the hardest for you and explain why you struggle with it.

**Note: You can choose more than one part of the writing process, but you need to explain why each part you choose is hard for you.

Part II: What do you think you could do to improve your skills in that part of the writing process? (Be specific. Saying, "I could practice more," is not going to be specific enough to answer this question.)

Friday Journal

Last week I learned what the SAT words for list three and the vocabulary words from the story The Most Dangerous Game meant. I also learned the terms protaganist and antagonists and their meanings in the story. My favorite thing to do though was learning how to set up the class blogs. I like the idea of this because it is different than how you do your homework usually in all your other classes. Also, you can personalize it and make it your own by changing the font colors and choosing a background for your page.

Part one :

The hardest part of writing is writing process is when you have to rough draft i think that all of the info u come up with sketch it out and write it down once you 've got everything done writting everything down .. and make sure you dont have any mistakes.

Part Two:

I can inprove by maybe writingand
not making mistake and and be more agressive in my work

<>
Part One: The hardest thing about the writing process, to me, is planning and figuring out what to write. The thoughts in my head don't come out the way I want them to. It takes me more time to figure out what I'm trying to say, and how I'm supposed to say it. I also don't like having to write about topics that I have no interest in. In my opinion, not being able to write about what you want, is very boring and a waste of time. Editing for errors is also tricky because there are so many, that when you re-read it, sometimes you don't always get all of them. Editing for errors is pretty boring as well.

Part Two: To improve my writing skills I think the teacher can give more interesting topics. Learning more vocabulary words could make my writing sound smarter as well.

Friday Journal

I learned what antagonist and protagonist means story-wise. I also reread one of my favorite stories, only i hate when authors try to leave you thinking. It's so annoying. my favorite part was when General Zaroff and Rainford was arguing. I love
Part One..
The hardest part of the wrinting process is the drafting part. After a while i get tired of writing an don't wanna write any more. Especially when its timed cause it makes me rush and it ends up all messed up.
Part Two..
I think that no matter what i do it will still be hard. But if i had to try i would just partice writing essays in a set amount of time with time to check it.

Friday journal

This week in your class i learned how to do many things but probaley the most important was learning how to make blogs and how to use gaggle.net. Also your SAT vocab words gave me more words to learn so now i know more intelligent words to use when im writing or doing say to day things. So thanks for making me smarter, and i will see you next monday for more teaching!
Part One: =)
The hardest thing about writing in my opinion is deciding what to write and planning out what placement and back up it is going to need. I find it hard because most of the topics we have to write on are dumb and hard to explain and it is extremely difficult to write five paragraphs on and have enough information about. Sometimes I also have a hard time trying to figure out what exactly I am supposed to say about the topic of the essay. I think we should be able to pick or vote for topics so we can relate to it more and it doesn't bore us so much.
Part Two: =)
To improve my writing skills I think the teacher should make our lessons and activities more enjoyable and fun so we are actually interested in the information she is giving out because most students will not listen if the lesson is boring. Students will also want to participate more because she will have our attention and that way the lesson is taught to everyone.
Question #1

The part in writing that is the hardest for me is the planning and grammar. It takes me forever to think of something to write. And the planning i usually do while writing because I can never think of something to write about. i also think the conclusions are hard to writ about because i always feel like i am repeating myself but i guess you are supposed to in a way.

Question #2

To improve myself I can learn to write down anything I am thinking about and to check for spelling or grammar errors. I also think that i could write more i and i might get used to thinking about prompt ideas. I'm not sure but it could help me.

Question response number one.

PART ONE. I personally think that the most challenging part of the writing process is the fact that I can never get my thoughts down in time. My writing ends up cramped and totally thrown together. This is not because I don't spend alot of time on my writing, because I do. It's just that I can't restrain my thoughts. If I don't get them down right when I think of them, I will not get them down at all. I never take the time to 'plan' things out. I just write spontaneously.

PART TWO. To better my writing, I guess I could slow down. That's another thing, my flippant thoughts work faster than my hand, thus making the handwriting absolutly disasterous. It would probably be better for me if I tok the time to plan it, but I just don't have that type of patience. Plus, my mind trails off. That happens all the time.

question #1 response

part 1: The hardest part of an essay is editing errors. The reason why I think that editing errors is the hardest part is because your done with your work and you really think that you have the best essay, so you dont want to go all the way back and check word by word, what you messed up. It is also very hard to find errors so you have to look at your paper very closely.

Part 2: For me to improve and fix my mistakes in essays, I think that I have to write more essays and notice errors that I make repeatedly, so that when I write another essay I can be used to my errors and I wont make them again. That way I can get a better score in my writing.

Question #1 Response

Part 1: I think the hardest part of the writing process is editing your work. It is hard to understand what you should not do to make your essay better. Editing can also be hard because what you think makes the paper better may actualy make it worse. You need to have a sharp eye to catch any errors and correct them. Editing can be one of the most hardest steps in the writing process in my opinion.

Part 2: To improve my writing but mostly edidting skills I could study the different grammar techniques that are practiced. I could also study how to correct papers (all the markings that teachers use, etc) to know how to accurately edit my paper. Again, I could study and try to understand better synonyms to use and better phrases to use to improve not only my editing skills, but also my writing in whole.

Question #1 response

part 1
The hardest thing for me when writing is the brainstorm and the editing errors. When I'm brainstorming I can never stay on topic. It's also hard because I can never think of enough idea's. The other thing is editing errors because I never know what my mistakes are.

part 2
I could improve brainstorming and editing errors by...... When I brainstorm I could try to focus more no matter how boring the prompt is. When I read through my paper I could try looking for miss spelled words and where comma's go and ect.

Question #1 Response

PART 1:
The part of the writing process that I find most challenging is brainstorming. I can never think of enough ideas for the prompt. There is so much going through my head about the topic when I'm brainstorming, that I can't think of anything. It takes me more than five minutes to brainstorm because I'm so bored that i start to get off topic and think about other things.
I also have trouble with putting ideas to paper. Sometimes I don't have enough ideas to write five paragraphs, and sometimes I have too much that it starts not making sense and I start making grammar errors.

PART 2:
I think I could improve brainstorming by trying to focus on only one idea instead of focusing on ten and trying to stay more on topic. To improve putting ideas on my paper, I should take my time when writing my essay and be more careful when writing. After every paragraph, I should check to make sure there are no spelling or grammar errors.

question number one response

Part 1

The hardest part of the writing process is coming up with good transition, because most of the transitions I write are either really cheesy or really boring. Without a good transition your essay will not be good and you will lose points.

Part 2

I can get better at writing transitions by looking them up online, asking my 8th grade English teacher, and being more creative with my writing. Also I can get better at transitions by writing a better essay and giving myself better opportunities for good transitions

Question 1 Response

Question 1 reponse

The most difficult part of the writing process is planning the essay. Usually when I write i just go and it almost always turns out good but I take writing seriously and i want to do better so i try to plan essays but i just give up and stop planning and start writing. In order to improve this i think that I should try to actually follow through with planning and see how much it helps me. My 4th grade teacher told me that prewritting might not work for some people but you should try it anyways.

QUESTION NUMBER ONE RESPONSE

The one part of the writing that challenging me the most is brainstorming. Brainstorming is hard because of the time it takes me to think about my response to the topic. Also the time it takes me to organize the information at hand. Most of the time I write the essay "as I go" but sometimes I get stuck in the middle because I did not think out the whole essay.

The way I think I can improve on this problem is by pre-planning my essay. Wright down all of my thoughts and ideas.

Question one responce

Part 1.
The hardest part about the writing prosess for me is the brainstorming. I have a hard time thinking about what I am going to write before I write it, the words just usually flow out of my pencil. Basically I just make it up as I go along. It's ok though because I've been told what I write is pretty good.

Part 2.
I don't think that I can nesessaraly change this, I seem to do fine without the whole "plan ahead" portion of the writing. Beings I don't realy need the planing to do well when writing, then I guess I'll be fine for now.

question number 1 response

Part_One

I think the most challenging part of the writing process is brainstorming. Brainstorming is hard for me because it is the seed to the writing. It is how you begin your essay. From one idea can come numerous ideas. Brainstorming lets your imagination go wild. You must think hard and long, but once you find the perfect topic you'll know.

Part_Two

I could improve my brainstorming skills by being more open-minded, and being more creative. I should prctice taking a shorter time to brainstorm at home and at school.

Question number one response

Part 1: The part I find most challenging in writing an essay is brainstorming. I find this the most challenging part because you have to think of what you're going to write and if nothing comes to your mind you're in alot of trouble. Another reason I think this is the most challenging part of the essay is because they have they have to be good topics so that you get a good grade on the essay. If you choose weak topics to talk about you're not going to get a good grade and not be able to support the topic.

Part 2: The way I can improve my brainstorming skills is by reading more and writing more essays. That way I raise my IQ points. This way I can keep my mind active and think of ideas faster so that I have more time to write my essay.

Question Number One Response

Part One
The part of the writing process I find most challenging is prewriting or brainstorming. Prewriting (brainstorming) is the most challenging for me because you have to think out your whole essay properly before you can start writing it out on to your paper. I think this because usually I don't want to leave any important topics out, but then you have to make sure you put enough information and details into your essay. I also find this writing process challenging since I usually have more ideas then what is really required for the essay.

Part Two
I could improve on finding this writing process challenging by trying to find out what the main topic of the essay is asking by rereading over the topic before I actually start brainstorming out my paragraphs. Also I think I could try to think about the most important topics I could write about in my essay without making it with too many ideas. Although, you need to include enough details and examples I would just have to narrow them down a little more.

Question Number One Response

The part of the writing response that i find most difficalt is brain storming, because i have so many thoughts going through my mind at once. I can fix this problem by writing maby three ideas down then eliminating down to the best one. I can also use my free time trying to think of more ideas to use when a real prompt comes along.

My question # 1 response

The hardest thing for me about writing is brainstorming, and editing my work. Brainstorming is very hard for me because i am eager to get the story done, and I don't want to put the time into brainstorming. I have always started my prompt without brainstorming, and it is probably a bad habit.

another hard thing for me is editing my work, and going over it when I'm done. I have never gone over my work ,because I wouldn't have wrote it if it wasn't right. This is also another bad habit, and could probably help my writing out a lot.

I think that if i were to change anything about my writing to improve it, i would definately put the time and effort into edditing my work, and brainstorming.

Question number one response

Part 1:
The most challenging part in writing an essay is drafting. This part of the essay is the hardest because you have to organize what you want to say, and then put it on paper. It is hard for me write down exactly what I want to say.

Part2:
What I think I can do to improve my skills is to read more. What else I can do is practice putting down what comes to mind. I think if I continue to do this my skills will improve.

Question Number One Response

The part of the writing process that I find the most challenging is Pre-writing (brainstorming). I find it challenging because it is hard for me to think of things to write about. I have trouble thinking of ideas or subjects to talk about. Revising for quality is hard for me too. Its hard because when I finish my prompt, I believe I did the best I could. So when I read through it to see if I need some work, it sound like I did a good job. But sometimes, I do find some errors. For improving my Pre-writing (brainstorming), I could spend my free time doing some writing prompts, and making sure that I brainstorm some of the ideas I am going to write. To improve revising my quality, I could improve my vocabulary and switch some normal words with some "spicy" words.

Question Number One Response

Part One
The most challenging part about the writing process is brainstorming and prewriting. The issue is that there are some many things you can write about. In my opinion brainstorming is a very difficult task to fulfill. I usually want to write about more topics than required. If you give too much information then that could deduct from your score. On the other hand, if you don't give enough information than that could also damage your score. Another reason brainstorming is a struggle is because once you think about what you are going to use for your topics then you must narrow them down.

Part Two
I could improve my brainstorming skills by re-reading the topic. I can also help myself by picking the most important details and make sure they relate to the topic. Once I have my topics chosen then I should narrow them down to the best choices.

question number One response

The writing process that i think is most difficult is making good transistions, because most of the time my transisitions arent the best and there very boring. I can do many things to fix this and make them better like. I can use better phrases and better bigger words at the beggining of the paragraph. I can just try to use the best phrases and words i can and just practice a lot and just try my best to make them better. I can also get people to wrtie stories with me so i can see how they do and ask how they use transistions, so they can help me out and i can also help them out.

Question Number One Response

When I write an essay, I have the hardest time drafting and brainstorming. I do not like brainstorming because I have a hard time thinking of what to use for my essay. I feel that I do better without brainstorming. I struggle with drafting because I have a hard time transferring my abstract thoughts onto paper. I also have problems with editing for errors, because I rush to get my essay done so I don't have an incomplete.

I could improve on brainstorming by being more open-minded. I could also look online for tricks to use to make brainstorming simple and effective. I could improve my skills in drafting by writing more. I can improve on editing for errors by checking my paper carefully after each essay.

Question Number One Response

part_one

I find revising my work for quality the most challenging part of any writing assignments. This is due mostly to the fact that whenever I change my original responses, my work usually either tends to be either worse than it was to start, or it was a tedious change that has little effect on the overall quality of my current topic. For example, revising my wording from "to end with," vs. "finally,".
part_two

In order to improve my skills in this area of writing, I think that I should focus more on "spicing up" my essays with interesting vocabulary, instead of making pointless tweaks to my grammar structure or wording. As it pertains to the example in the preceding heading, I have lately been using "in cessation" as a more mature and advanced way of bringing about an ending.

My question number 1 response

Part 1: The hardest part about writing for my is the pre-writing part. When you have to make those web diagrams and put your main idea in and then give supporting details. I usually to like to just write what pops in my mind instead of planning ahead of me, it is also easier for me that way.

Part 2: I could improve this by before every prompt start brainstorming and then follow those topics. Doing this before every prompt would help me to improve this bad habit.

Question #1 Response

Part 1: One part of the writing process that i find the most challenging is the drafting part. It takes a long time to do, and it's hard to put all your ideas together into one essay. Writing three to five paragraphs is very complicated to me because there's just so many words to write. It's overwhelming. I struggle with it because I don't always know what to talk about. Especially when it's not a good topic. During the year in English 1 Honors I hope to get better at drafting.

Part 2: To improve my drafting skills, I could write more essays on topics that I like. I could also, read articles on drafting, so that I could get more ideas on how to draft better. Another thing I could do to get better at drafting is to learn how to brainstorm my ideas before writing an essay. I never pre-write my essays, so that could be one reason why I don't write as good. To improve my writing, I could start brainstorming my ideas, so I'm more organized. I hope throughout the year, I will improve a lot on pre-writing my ideas and writing essays.

Question Number One

****PUT "QUESTION NUMBER ONE RESPONSE" AS YOUR POST'S TITLE****

Question 1: Be sure you answer BOTH parts of the question.
