I think it is amazing that students are letting out their feelings. Now we can see how other people feel about the same stuff we have to face as students.

My voice is not heard a lot about issuses around the school as a whole, because I do not speak out about a lot about stuff like that. I think it is really good that students are speaking out like that. When students are using blogs to talk about how kids are taught, their voice is able to be heard by others that do not attend that school. It also makes a big impact on situations when students are writing blogs about education and schools.

My voice isnt heard in school becuase i never really speak up. I dont really get into that kind of stuff i guess, ive never really cared. But people who do try to speak up i dont think are really listened to. The school should listen to ones who speak up about things for the school or school problems because we are students at this school and i feel if some one wants to speak up about something, they should be listened to.

Personally i dont speak out. But those who do should be listened to. I mean i could care less what the schools dicisions are about things going on in school. But i feel those who do and want to speak up should atleast be listened to becuase they do attened this school.

I dont think my voice is heard because I dont normally talk about those kind of topics. Seeing all the posts that these students put up is really good because it might be an even better way to get it across than at school. More people can see what they have to say than just the people at their school.

My voice is not heard throughout the school. The reason for this is because I am not in a position to be heard. A great way to be in position is by blogging what you think. Let your opinion be heard through this. The blog will get noticed by a lot of people because a lot of people use the computers. This tool is also good for kids who don't normaly speak out about these things. You could have a great idea or suggestion but not speak up because you are shy. This prevents that from happening. I think this is a great way for the students to be heard.

No, I acutally do not feel like my voice is NOT heard in school, it's because I'm hispanic, they hear everything I say... nah, im just playing around(inside joke for Period 3). On a more seroius matter, I really don't feel like my voice is heard in school becuase I dont really speak out, I just go to school and learn like my parents tell me to. Sure there's alot of work and some kids don't care whether or not they do well, but its like the first essay said, you don't go to school only to learn about how to add numbers, or how to use big words(those things do count in life though), but rather to think outside the box. That's what I believe.

I usually speak out because I'm also hispanic and everyone hears what I have to say. Just kidding(inside joke from third period haha). I usually don't speak out though, because I don't like being the center of attention. I just go to school and do what I'm supposed to most of the time.

I thought it was awesome that the students could look at something that appears one-dimensional but see it in three-dimensional. I thought that they were very dedicated, that showed a great message despite ipods and myspace being all some kids can think about some kids can really have an understanding to what is importnant and having a voice. I speak out at times but I really should more and reading those posts gave me a persuaded push to look at school and life differenly

I would say that my voice is not heard in our school. The truth is, I really just don't care most of the time. My mentality, and yes, I know this isn't right, is to just barely get by- get my work done and get out of the dungeon. It's kind of a punch in, punch out kind of thing. I would like to speak out more, though. I think that it is awesome that other students are posting their true feeligs. I hope I can start to get more involved in our school over the years, but it's just not one of my priorities right now.

I think my voice isn't heard at school, but that could be because I don't speak out. I don't really like going to school, so I just do what I'm supposed to do without complaining. Although a lot of people don't speak out at our school. I want to start speaking out, but it isn't one of the things on my list at the moment. Maybe in a year or two i'll start doing that, when I have more time. For right now, though, I'm just worrying about getting good grades and doing what my parents tell me to do.

I am amazed that anyone can put personal stuff like that on the internet for everyone to read. It is also nice to know that we aren't alone in the fact that we don't like school and don't see the use for half of the stuff that we learn here.

My voice is not heard a lot, but I believe it it my fault. I usually keep quite around school. It is great that students are choosing to speak out about others.I will try to speak out more.

I think this blog is a very good idea. It is a good way for students to let out their thoughts; it's nice to see that I'm not the only one who feels like my voice isn't heard.

she has some very good points. I think it is good she is speaking out for people to here, and not keeping her thoughts to herself. i know it is hard to speak up, especially when you are new or don't know anyone. I think we all have diferent times when we wil speak up and when we wilo keep it to ourselves. Someday we will all speak up.

I think that's a good point, Sean. Some people are more comfortable expressing themselves (in print like on a blog or in front of people). But other people have to "grow" into the confidence to speak up. I was one of those who had to "grow" into being outspoken.

How can students work on expressing themselves in a constructive way (i.e., not whining or complaining, but genuinely looking at the world and making observations)?

I think my voice is heard at school, however, I don't feel like it's really listened to. When ever I voice my opinions on certain subjects, some people think I'm being rude or obnoxious. I don't like coming to school, so I don't really care about the disscusions we have in class. I think the disscussions are irrelivent to my life, and if it's on a subject that I have no knowledge about I'm not going to speak up. I think just because we are students, teachers don't think what we say is very important.

I really think our voices aren't heard enough in school. I thinks it's extremly cool for students to be able to express themeselves like that and I really like the way the write. Blogs are one of the new ways in which people are voicing opinions and it about time we learn to do the same when it applies to school. But some people will think nothing of us, they will think that we are just hormone crazed teenagers, but we aren't we have thoghts, feeling and intresting opinions.

I don't think that my voice is heard throughout the school, because I don't speak out about all of the issues at school. I usually just focus on getting all of my work done in time. I think that it's good for kids to speak out, though, and maybe I should start doing it too.

My voice isn't heard by many people at this school. Not only teachers, but students as well. Everyone thinks because I'm a cheerleader, I'm a ditzy girl and I don't know what I'm talking about. But people don't listen to me to know that I am well educated, smart, and know what's happening in the world. But when I write things down in a blog, or letter, they don't know who I am or what I do. But when they read it, they think I know what I'm talking about. So that discourages me to not speak out.

I think it's an excellent chance for kids to voice their opinion on various things happening in the world or even in their life. Blogging and other forms of media is a great new invention that can allow kids, adults and teenagers to express themselves and be able to fix various problems around the world.
